Teaching with Intentionality: Language Educators as Transformative Intellectuals and Reflective Practitioners

The fall 2022 issue of GATESOL Journal provides its readers with insights into how language educators could create meaningful learning experiences for their students. papers are connected the core idea that vested in intentionally using pedagogical approaches have an impact on and what students learning. position as both transformative intellectuals (i.e., who strive not only educational advancement but also personal transformation) reflective practitioners problem-solvers possessing “the ability to look back critically imaginatively, do cause-effect thinking, derive explanatory principles, task analysis, forward, anticipatory planning” [Kumaravadivelu, 2003, p. 10]). This will showcase teachers’ intentions through roles practitioners.
